What is marble made of ?
Marble is a limestone that has been changed under intense heat and pressure and is composed of calcium carbonate. The most common mineral of this composition is calcite.
Etch - Blemish, white spots, dull spots - Etch Removal
Calcite reacts to acid based products such as wine, coke, perfume, pet stains, house hold cleaners, window cleaners. The chemical rection is called etching, this is evident by wine ring marks, white spots, dull spots, blemishes on your marble. These are not stains, the acid based product has eaten the surface of the marble.
Lustre etch removal process is similar to removing a scratch from timber.
Stains - Stain removal process
Natural stone is porous and when not sealed with the approprite sealer will stain the once beautiful and elegant material. Lustre stain removal will remove the stain permanently leaving your surface as new.
There are many different types of sealers on the market, however they will differ mainly in how much protection they offer (measured in the time they will protect and the range of contaminates they will repel).
The low cost products will measure protection in minutes against a small range of contaminants while the premium products will afford much greater protection (measured in hours) against a quite exhaustive range of contaminants.
